Just watched this for the first time since it was in the theaters. Not funny. A slog even at 90 minutes.

I think it's a terrific film. You want to like Dell but you understand why Neil finds him annoying. It's a classic movoe

That's a true statement. Del IS likable. He's a sweet guy, kind of innocent, and trustworthy. Frankly, the world would probably be better if there were more Del Griffiths.

But at the same time, he is annoying. He does shit that will drive you up the wall and make you really need some space.

I also love this movie and it's one that I wish I'd seen in the movie theater when it first came out (I've never really been a huge moviegoer).

I try to rewatch this every Thanksgiving. One thing about rewatching it over the years is that the ending makes me sad in a way, because I really miss John Candy. He was such a talented actor and he seemed like a genuinely nice guy. It would have been interesting to see how his career would have gone had he lived longer.
