Stop motion horror

Their is something about the craft of stop motion monsters I find in this movie that really gets under my skin which no modern movie can do. The way they look and move is really unsettling. Gives a very unearthly quality to their demonic appearances.

Yes, and for a B-grade movie the effects in this film were at a top level. Well done to everyone. Just wish the acting was better. :)

Indeed 80's stop motion does have its charm.

this movie also made use of some very clever forced perspective, so the tiny demons at the the children's feet were sometimes full-sized men in costume, twenty feet below

I didn't know that, it's pretty cool.

They used forced perspective flawlessly to get the effect. My favorite is the zombie falling to the ground to shatter into a bunch of minions.

This is a good discussion of the movie.

Yeah. It was pretty impressive for such a low budget movie.
