Hated 90% of her outfits...the 10 cent thrift shop granny look was ugly and there's a reason why it was never revived...and I doubt about how in style it was since we never really saw alot of women in 80's movie dressed like that. I think the wardrobe people were trying to make a new fashion statement in the movie and it mostly bombed. Not that the fashion that most of the other women in the movie were wearing was much better.

Also hated her hair...the too short, blunt banges were not flattering to Molly's face, which is a pity because she was very pretty.

Girls around Downtown NY dressed like Ringwald in the film. There was a big mix up of Laura Ashley, Thrift Store and Motorcycle jackets. However this was only a few blocks radius, I never realized that not all people were dressing like this at the time. It could be why the clothing designers had a misfire copying NY instead of someplace else USA.

I thought she looked great.

She looked dowdy. In comparison, Annie Potts character was the hippest one even when she toned it down she looked cooler than Andie who just looked poor with extraordinary poor taste. Even her prom dress was cooler and Andie fugged it up, turning it into a shoulderless sack. Lol

She looks 50 in this. Her hair is like my Aunt’s, makes her chin look huge. Her dresses are drab and dowdy.

reply

That was kind of the fashion looking back.

I thought her outfit was horrendous in this but must've been cool in the 80s

I was in high school in the late 80s and I don't know anyone who liked her prom dress/hairstyling. But in most of the scenes she didn't dress like that. She was just into vintage stuff.

Is it weird that I kind of liked the style?
