Doug and Chappie are morons...

Well maybe not morons, I was just trying to get your attention.

I respect Doug and Chappie for going in to save his dad...

*However,*

it was a pretty fucking dumb move to mess with a dangerous country that do not recognize the US's international airspace. They warned the US over and over, not to violate their airspace. Doug and Chappie should understand the severity of a move like this. They could ruin any chance of diplomatic talks, trade agreements or start a war pulling shit like that.

And just like the US to go acting like they own that airspace. There is lots of sky up there. They did not need to go flying around where they were. That just the US trying to flex it's muscles and get whatever they can take. I don't blame that other country for failing to recognize what the US deems as international waters. The military really had no business being that far out for training exercises. They claimed a 200 mile limit and the US only recognizes 12.

*TWELVE MILES* what dicks!

12 miles is nothing to an F-16.

How can you expect a country to keep calm when you're flying around on their "front lawn"?

That is a very 2020 viewpoint.

In 1986 it was USA! USA!

reply

LOL!

That 12 miles was not arbitrarily made up by the United States. In 1982, 12 nautical mile sovereign territorial seas were enacted by the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. 12 nautical miles of territorial waters applied to every member of the United Nations. One inch outside of 12 nautical miles were international waters which also corresponded to the airspace above it.

You could have easily looked that up. On the other hand... post more of the same. We could use another good laugh.

The mythical country was a piss-ant boil on the ass of the world. They had some second rate aircraft and a lot of second rate tanks (should sound a lot like Saddam era Iraq or Khadaffi era Libya). They put on great parades but at the end of the day, a war with this country would be a weekend exercise.

Yeah but the way they kept reloading their planes with armament whilst in flight was amazing.

They seemed to have an endless supply. One scene they have nothing the next armed up again.
