Was Mrs. Shields being passive aggressive towards Ralphie and Schwartz?

During the scene where she goes up towards Ralphie and Schwartz was she being passive aggressive towards Ralphie and Schwartz when she claims that she knows some of her students put Flick up to this but he refuses to say who?

Teachers see who hangs around with who. That's why she specifically looked at those boys when giving her little speech.

Just read a piece where the actor playing the teacher wanted to play the role meaner but the director Bob Clark wanted her to be more of a mentoring and carrying type teacher as she portrayed.

Also, she was pregnant at the time of this role.....
