Could have been better I am sorry to say.

I think the final match was too short, they ("they" being the writers of the script) rushed Lang getting "tired". Lang got too tired after only 2 rounds, even with over exerting and not pacing himself which was how most of Mohammid Ali's opponents lost it should not have happened THAT FAST. The movie would have been better if Lang had lasted a few more rounds maybe to round 5 or 6 before the tiredness became obvious.

I DO agree that Lang should not have gone the distance (or even most of the distance) for one thing Rocky really needs to have evolved beyond Lang to be believable as someone who could beat Ivan Drago in the sequel. Drago was so much tougher than Lang that if Rocky could barely beat Lang he would realistically stand no chance against Ivan. That is why I think Lang should have lost in round five or six, not round three.

It did seem a bit early for Lang to "punch himself out;" however, Ali was notorious for letting his opponents hang around longer than they could (or in some cases should) have. Also, Rocky supposedly, had a pretty good punch, despite being rather small for a heavyweight. Think Joe Frazier.

As far as the sequel goes, i doubt they were thinking about that when they made this one.

In real life this would be true, but all movies compress time, they need to keep the audience engaged and hyped up during the final fight.

Well, they could have done what they did with the other movies, skip through rounds, showing only a few flurries of each. But, whatever, not a huge deal to me.

It's a big step down from 1 and 2, but they needed to do something different. Lang got tired because he normally knocks everyone out in the first round. But yes, I agree, round 5 would have been more realistic rather than round 3.

I am not a boxer but this sounds like a plot hole to me
