Quentin Tarantino stole from opening

Learned something new today, watched this movie for the first time, pretty close to Jackie Brown.

He must have been a fan of this somewhat obscure movie.

Burt Reynolds made a lot of really poor movies. He was not a very good judge of material.

reply

Burt got so much poontang that it was probably hard for him to focus on anything but.

I thought this movie had potential. QT was right on to cherry pick the opening sequence.

I would have nixed the many ad lib scenes, tightned the script, and booted Sharkeys dog day afternoon boss (Charles Durning) who just yelled all the time.

reply

True that! LOL.

reply

Yeah but this is one of his good ones imo.

reply

I thought Jackie Brown was more like the opening to "The Graduate".

Sharky's Machine / Jackie Brown had the same song. Bobby Womacks Accros 110th St.

Haven't seen the superior The Graduate in quite awhile.

reply

Wasn't it Street Life?

110th street is in jackie brown and across 110th Street....

reply

Yes that's right...got confused thanks for the correction. They both used Street Life.
