Am I the only one

That thinks Lambert was better looking than Ripley in this? Not implying that Sigourney Weaver is "unattractive" but I think Veronica Cartwright had that "blonde hair/blue eye" quality going for her.

reply

Yes you're the only one.

Sigourney is cute, wholesome and shows some skin at the end of the flick. It's no contest. #TeamSigourney

No man is an island ๐Ÿ˜

reply

Sigourney showed some skin and her 1970s power bush in Alien. Nice!

reply

Too much griping from Lambert, it was a turn off for me. But I'm not a huge fan of Sigourney's either. She was good looking in Ghostbusters with a heavy makeup, though.

reply

I noticed that too. Even the actress knew her character too hysterical. But Sir Ridley Scott convinced her that Lambert was supposed to represent the audience's fear and anxieties when faced with the Alien. Hence, the over the top hysteria.

I agree that she was better looking in Ghostbusters.

reply

I donโ€™t think either of them were massively attractive but Iโ€™d easily pick Ripley over Lambert. Firstly, Lambert was a tranny (as we learn in Aliens), and secondly she was really annoying with the one-note hysteria and general bitchiness.

Sigourney was sexy in Ghostbusters but sheโ€™s always been a trifle butch for my taste. Fantastic actress though.

"Firstly, Lambert was a tranny (as we learn in Aliens)".

Don't be so judgemental! ๐Ÿ˜

"secondly she was really annoying with the one-note hysteria and general bitchiness".

Read my comment above โ˜๏ธ

And yeah! Weaver is one hell of an actress.

reply

Iโ€™m not into dudes and Iโ€™d already read your comment, makes no difference to Lambertโ€™s annoying-ness.

reply

All depends on personal preference. Lambert was put in as the one who just wants out of there, hence some viewers finding her annoying/unattractive, and had most of her scenes cut - if the stories are true. But did end up getting one of the most horrific deaths in movie history.

"Lambert was put in as the one who just wants out of there, hence some viewers finding her annoying/unattractive"

Under the circumstances wouldn't you also want to get the hell out of dodge!?

Don't think I'm aware of any deleted scenes of her cut out aside from the ones that you can find on YouTube. But I did read that her character was originally going to die from a random heart attack whilst hiding in a locker (this served as one of the game mechanics for AI). Another version had her getting sucked into orbit via a perforation the size of a keyhole. This concept was of course added to Alien IV. That movie sucked but at least it had Ron Perlman ๐Ÿ˜

And for the record! Was Lambert "assaulted" by the Alien with it's tail? Or was that just clever editing to make the audience believe that that was the case.

reply

She was raped.. No 2 ways about it

Demonetized! ๐Ÿ˜

Forgot to mention another reason why I prefer Lambert. Ripley is obviously a strong and confrontational woman. She'd likely hurt my feelings on a first date ๐Ÿ˜

reply

Also forgot to mention that actress Veronica Cartwright is exactly my height. Whilst Sigourney Weaver's almost 6 feet. Don't mean for this sound the wrong way. But I would feel awkward going out with someone that much taller than me.

Soy un taponcito como Veronica ๐Ÿ˜„

reply

Well son if you're 5ft4-ish I can understand you being intimidated by Sigourney.

reply

5 - 5 actually! But I get your point ๐Ÿ˜„

reply

Sigourney was a knockout back then. The kind of woman everyone takes notice of when she enters a room.

Cartwright was a good looking woman, but nah.

reply

I kinda thought the same thing. Lambert was kinda hot to me.

reply

Finally! Someone that agrees with me. She also seemed like the emotionally sensitive type. I'll never forget that one deleted scene where she's standing beside herself in a corner, with her arms crossed and in deep contemplation. I jokingly say that Lambert would fit perfectly in my stories ๐Ÿ˜
