Reeve's Superman movies have not aged well at all
But, I imagine the current crop of superhero movies will look pretty silly in forty years as well (if not much sooner).

Superman 1 is one of the top 5 super hero movies of all time (others are: Ironman, Thor:Ragnarok (#1), Avengers Infinity War, Spider-man [2002])
Almost all DC movies were and are crap but Superman 1 is still the shining beacon. Superman II, III and IV went from good, ugh and crap though. However, Chris Reeves, Margot Kidder and Gene Hackman were astounding. The lone standout being Chris Reeves who IS Superman.
No other guy in Superman costume comes remotely close. The next but distant far best is Henry Cavill. Looks good as Superman in general but several things done with him are garbage - his hair style making him appear baldy, his stupid costume with the bridal ridiculous digital cape, the dark stupid colors and stupid BDSM costume, the stupid Man of Steel plot and reboot which was atrocious despite great actors like Kevin Costner and Diane Lane to the ridiculous Gen Zod. Faora was good but the shaky cam, dumb action made no sense. Hell, even the Gen Zod and co in Superman II were far far better than this crapola trio.
There's very few people who ARE the role they play. e.g. Chris Reeves as Superman, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, RDJ as IronMan, Helen Slate is THE Supergirl, Tobey McGuire is THE Spider-man (rest are crap), Grant Gustin is THE Flash (the movie guy is garbage).
And his Superman movies still are much more fun and have aged well. The good v evil Superman is still one of my most memorable scenes.
The first one is brilliant. It holds up remarkably well. In fact, I think it is the very best superhero movie ever made. I am not a fan of the following three films.
