Tina really went through it, didn't she...

Witnessed the boat explosion, almost ran into a dead whale, then watched as her boyfriend was chomped to pieces in front of her.

Expect a large therapy bill for her.

You're right, Tina really did go through it. Ann Dusenberry was wonderful as Tina, a brilliant performance. She was almost like Mary Ingalls in Little House on the Prairie - these two pretty, blonde girls that had really bad luck and had everything bad happened to them! Glad Tina survived, though. Hopefully she got back on track with further beauty pageants, and got her life back on track after a horrible summer!

For some reason, people make fun of the actress who played Tina but I thought she was very good. She did go through a lot but she was also Miss Amity ( I think?) and I would say the best looking woman on the island.

Not necessarily. Sure she might have had some therapy, but there are additional ways of coping with trauma such as looking to God and those who believe in him for support. Some who do this fine that not as much therapy is needed or that it help with the therapy they do still need. I felt so sorry for the character and wish Jaws 3 or Jaws 4(had it been a good movie) would have had her in it to show she was better.

I dunno, she lived, didn't she? Given her reveal as the little boys' universal object of lust, not to mention the shamelessly exploitative opening scene of her as 'Miss Amity' we might expect, given the relentless tropism of the slasher film, that she was destined for something even more horrible than merely witnessing somebody else being devoured. But there it is, these formulae were further developed in later films.

I'd say a Huge Therapy Bill
