I couldn't see this as a kid in 1978

It wasn't because of the rating, which was almost certainly PG and I was 12 years old that year. What happened is I was from a very small town in mid Missouri. Every summer I had the chance to go stay with my grandparents in Springfield, Mo and even though that was great I was kind of stuck around the neighborhood for most of the month that I was there. One day I was in the back of my grandparents car, we were stuck in awful traffic and I could see the theater marquee with "Capricorn One" just a few hundred feet away. I loved anything Sci-Fi back then and Capricorn One was the one movie I wanted to see. Not that my grandparents were super strict or anything it's just that the year before they would only let me go see G rated For the Love of Benji, I hated movies like that. So yeah in the summer of 77 I saw Benji instead of Star Wars and the next year it probably was some Love Bug movie instead of Capricorn One. Years later in 1987 I rented Capricorn One it was unwatchable I fell asleep lol.
