Nilo's backstory

Every other character who went into hiding has a straightforward premise as to why and who they're running away from but the Mexican assassin didn't seem to be in any distress or have any reason to need to go into hiding. The way he conducted the hit seemed like Standard Operating Procedure for him. Was there suppose to be more to his back story? I've read some info on the Wiki page but even there his character's premise is vague

He was probably hired to kill the ex-Nazi guy.

I thought that too, but if so he has no reason to have to take on the delivery job in order to leave the village. He can just board a flight on the way out. There's no plot indications that he's on the run or in hiding, that's why I brought this up in the first place. In his first scene, he carries out the hit and then leaves. There's no indication that he was outed by a witness or authorities either.

I agree. Nilo was sent to the village to kill the old German former Nazi.

I also used to think 'Marquez' was an ex-Nazi (he definitely has the vibe, seems German or Austrian, and is hiding in South America like many notorious NSDAP members did...) but I'm not certain any more.
When Kassem goes to Marquez's room after he's been missing and examines his stuff on his bed, the black, red and white card in his wallet, with an eagle on it, that we briefly catch a glimpse of seems to in fact be the logo of the oil company, and not a Nazi symbol (which he would have been to smart to keep anyway).
That said, he's probably a Nazi on the run, yes.
