Ranking the movies

1. Rocky-8.8 Awesome, Awesome! movie!

2. Rocky II-8.4 A good followup to the 1st, still was great but not quite as good as
the 1st. The fight was better tho.

3. Rocky III-7.0 This one started getting goofy, but still was entertaining and I
liked the fighting parts.

4. Rocky IV-7.0 Just as good as #III, was alright

5. Rocky Balboa-5.0 This one was just boring, I was already burned out after the 5th one.

6. Rocky V-3.0 I have really nothing good to say about it, this one sucked! No Rocky
in the ring

01. Rocky (10/10) - Complete masterpiece
02. Rocky II (9.5/10) - Great film, not quite as good as the original but hands down has the best montage and the best fight
03. Rocky III (8/10) - Legitimately dumb movie but I gotta bump it up due to Clubber Lang
04. Creed (8/10) - Overall enjoyable just Adonis isn't as interesting as Rocky is
05. Rocky V (7.5/10) - Stallone's performance is bad, I got that but the story was solid and I liked how it was about him and his son
06. Rocky Balboa (7.5/10) - Kind of drags in the middle but the end is great
07. Creed II (7/10) - Like Balboa a tad boring but overall enjoyable
08. Rocky IV (0/10) - Total dogshit, I have nothing positive to say about this one. It deserved every Razzie it won.

Stallone's performance is bad

Funny, I actually thought it was among his better performances in the Rocky franchise. There were actually some critics who actually said his performance was one of the better aspect of the movie. The quality of one's acting is really subjective I guess.

To each his own. I think the problem was in Rocky III and IV Stallone wasn't playing Rocky, he was just playing himself. Then when Rocky V was being filmed he decided to play Rocky again yet seemed to have forgotten how and went way too far over the top. Still I think it's a good film.

I totally agree with you about Rocky III and IV. I would also have to admit that in Rocky V he looked like he mixed the personalities of the original naive and insecure Rocky and the one from the too confident Rocky from the third and fourth movie.

That being said, there are a few scenes in Rocky III when we can see some traits of the original character (the talk on the beach with Adrian for instance when we can sense some vulnerability to the character).
