Martin Sheen as Frank

He played this creepy character quite well. The scenes with him in them made me feel uncomfortable and I'm sure that is what they were going for. The part where he
killed her hamster Gordon was truly awful! I was so glad for the ending when she killed him.
. Great acting as a terrible character!

I liked Sheen in this. He really could play a real slime and make you believe it. Great actor!

Good to see this trending, I watched it again quite recently.
Sheen is brilliant in it, he was quite good at these rotten characters!

I was just thinking of taking my copy down off the shelf and watching it tonight. It's been on my mind ever since this weekend when our son called and mentioned it.
Martin Sheen could play such creeps. He certainly was good looking back in the day...

I was just thinking of another creep he played so well....
Greg Stillson in The Dead Zone. Many, including King, think that character resembles Donald Trump.
We won't get into that here, so I hope and pray this suddenly doesn't become political.
No arguments from anyone.... Pullleeez. LOL!

reply

*whispers* Yes I think we both noted a ....cough...similarity when we were speaking about Sheen on the Grace and Frankie board!!

Ahem! Oh by the way, you're famous! You have a thread on filmboards devoted to you😂😂
I'm your sidekick apparently!
I do get my own thread too, I'm a C word. Croft, Stratego and deliciousfeet all got similar treatment.

I am in agony now that I watched all of the episode of Grace and Frankie. I didn't realize that it will take til spring to get the new season. I'm going to have to go slow!
A thread devoted to us!?!
Oh please! A link! I must have a link!

reply

I know, I really regret binge watching it now, although I really tried to just allow myself one or two episodes a week, it didn't happen!

It doesn't get much attention, it's pretty much tame for over there.

I found it! Who's Samson????

reply

No idea.
Must be someone from GD though. Feathers have been ruffled😂

reply

Just had another thought, it must be someone who has stalked us to individual boards.
That's quite flattering!

reply

❤️️
Yes, I figured it must be someone here from GD. The odd thing about that thread is that if we both left MovieChat and went over there, Samson would have to leave FilmBoards in order to avoid us. LOL!

"it must be someone who has stalked us to individual boards.
That's quite flattering!"

I think it's very flattering! I also think that would be wonderful. It could possibly get that rascal to become interested in the individual boards. Think of the good we have done for this site!
Ok.... I've come back down to reality. I'm cool... we're cool... all's cool....

reply

I know, the fame! But we must not let it go to our heads!

And we must not be seen in the same place too often, you never know who is watching...👀

reply

❤️️I confess that I have been checking out the posting history..... only there about a week. That one has it in for you, Stratego and Croft/Lara, me.... Yells a great deal too.
I've really gotta get a life!
That's right! I have one!
Why am I not living it more??????
Catch you later. At the moment, I have to put together a meatloaf and mash some potatoes...... The excitement never ends.

reply

Hey Miss Margo ! I miss you over here at Movie Chat. Stop in once in a while, please?

reply

He and the little girl really should've nominated an Oscar for terrific performances.

reply

For fans of Martin Sheen, this movie and "Dead Zone" should be watched together.

reply

I didn't really know what this movie was about when I clicked Play, and oh boy, I was ready to stop it from that first scene, because he was so very creepy. I physically balled up.

I'm glad I didn't stop it, because it was an interesting watch, but man, the 70s were something else, weren't they!

Both Sheen and Alexis Smith were abominable. Great performances, top tier creeps.
