I genuinely wonder if they will edit some of the 'offensive' content out.

Was the N word used in this? I can't remember it's been so long since I've seen it.

I also would be interested to know if that is edited out.

I just got the Australian imprint blu ray and they didn't edit anything out of it and the film looks much better on blu ray. The Paramount version is coming out in a few weeks. Be interesting if they did edited anything out of that. Sad to say I wouldn't be entirely shocked if they did.

It was on the IFC channel a week ago and nothing was cut out.

Yeah, IFC doesn't usually edit. It was on the MLB channel, too, and they edited several parts out.

Nah, it would be too much work to go through the movie and edit stuff out.
It would be more likely to have a little warning label about historical attitudes and expressions that are no longer considered appropriate, or something like that.

I watched the blu ray over the weekend and it's fucking beautiful. I mean, it's not something you'd use to show off your 4K TV, but all things being relative...

Yeah, it looks great. One reviewer said it wasn't much better than the dvd but I did a side by side comparison and it's much better. The extras are nice, too. I'd say the Paramount blu ray looks just slightly better than the imprint edition.
