If Randal would've just left at the end...

It always bothers me that around the end, the window, leading to the outside of the hospital is wide open. Randal had the most ideal opportunity to escape. But instead, he ended up sticking around, getting caught, attacking nurse Ratchet, then leading to him getting a lobotomy. If only he would've left...

He considered Billy a friend and wanted to be there after he had gotten laid. Also it is like that in the book too. Plus we wouldn't have that awesome scene of Chief lifting up the giant sink and throwing it out the window then escaping.

True.

Yeah, it's difficult to watch that scene, knowing the end.

I saw that movie on release , in 1975, in a packed theater, and when that window was open and he looked out and hesitated, people were yelling and screaming at the screen: "GO! Get out of there!"" When he chose to go check out what happened with the Dourif character and moved away...there was an audible groan, some sniffling(tears) I think.

It was powerful stuff.
