a. They are 'tards.
b. the bank manager is a 'tard for not just hanging up and letting them leave.
c. Sonny is a 'tard for burning the register instead of simply taking it with him.
d. The head teller is a 'tard for saying she needs to go to the bathroom causing the delay.
e. All of the above.

However we know Sonny isn't a total 'tard, e.g. he spots that brotha as a cop, but then "there'll be hamburgers on the plane". Planes don't serve hamburgers, this should've tipped him off.

Sonny wasn't very bright, and Sal was definitely a 'tard, in addition to being a psycho. As for the hamburgers, the plane probably had a minimal crew, with no flight attendants, so no on-board food preparation would have been going on. The cops could have just picked up a few bags of burgers from MacDonald's or some place because they knew the hostages hadn't eaten all day.

I doubt there was anyone onboard except cops waiting in case they actually got onboard. They knew they would stop them before they got that far.
