is this any good ??
never heard of it
shareThe movie is poorly done Hitchcock.
De Palma fared later much better with his pseudo-Hitchcock films between Carrie in '76 and Body Double in '84. And yet Sisters is important because it starred Margot Kidder and Jennifer Salt whose Malibu beach house in the early 70's became a stomping ground for everybody who was about to be somebody in the 70's: Lucas, Spielberg, De Palma, Peter Bogdanovich, Scorsese, John Milius, Robert Zemeckis, Bob Gale, etc. Check out "Easy Riders, Raging Bulls".
Very good for a first effort. Tremendous story telling and screen play by a young Brian De Palma. De Palma was a science and engineering nerd who switched to directing after watching and being blown away by Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo. His story has some Psycho in it. Well worth watching. Very clever and well crafted.
shareJust watched it for the first time. I expected a dated movie but ended enjoying it very much. Enthralling thriller. I do think the third act doesn't live up to what's come before, though.
