When was the last time you saw this on TV?

This used to be one of those movies that would occasionally air on local stations on like a Saturday afternoon...or perhaps really late at night...back in the 80s and early 90s. I recall one of the local stations airing in late one Saturday evening back in 1992, but that was the last time I saw it on TV. Has anyone caught this on TV in recent years?

I was telling a friend that I haven't seen this movie on late night television since the late seventies. I would always watch it no matter if it was the fifth or sixth time I'd seen it.

reply

I've never seen it on TV. I just watch my old VHS copy whenever I'm in the mood and it still works just fine.

Burn, witch! Burn, witch! Burn! Burn! Burn!

A fair copy is available to watch on YouTube

I realize your posting is four years old but if you're still interested I just watched it on Showtime.

I did too. I remember it being a big deal in theaters back then, one of the most popular movies at the time.

True. Jaws was groundbreaking and still carries an impact to this day.

I'm not sure of just how long it's been since I saw it on TV. It was probably on Turner Classics, but that would mean that it had to be 10 years ago..... we have had our cable cut for around eight years.
Now, the last time I saw this was right around last Halloween time. I have this on tape.

I actually rewatched it not that long ago; might have been during the winter or spring.

I always liked Bruce Davison. He seems to have gotten better with age too. A really good actor.
Have you ever watched the remake, starring Crispin Glover? He definitely fit the part.

reply

Yes I have and I like both versions of that movie.

Me too. Once in a great while there are good remakes.
In many cases though, I can never understand why film makers bother.

Caught it today! Can’t believe that it was on! Could scarcely believe my eyes when I read on the programming guide “Willard - 1971”

Seems to be the same as I recall but it’s been a long time. Good to see this again after all these years.
