Did Evelyn deserve to die?

I don't recall a movie, I haven't tried to at least, where the bad guy/girl gets killed without actually having killed anybody. If you think about it, Evelyn slashed up the housekeeper, but she was a live. I suppose she could have finished her off, but didn't. She even stayed and waited for the cops to get arrested. She tied up Tobie and could have easily killed her too, but only cut her hair. She was a bit unhinged, and I think Clint's character made her worse by giving in to her advances every time. I felt sorry for her actually. I think the movie does have a little bit of a misogynistic point of view. I think in reality, a person in Dave's shoes could be a little nicer and maybe those things don't happen. Then again, we wouldn't have a movie then. LOL!
