The thing I don't get is...

...every episode the "ghosts"or "monsters" are always debunked and reveal to be people SAME AS ALWAYS trying to scare them, but for some strange reason Shaggy and Scooby Do are ALWAYS STILL scared of them no matter how many times they were DEBUNKED! 

Philosophy issues?

Just because every "ghost" you come across is fake, is a reason to think there can't be a real one? It could make one more skeptical, but shouldn't make one cynical.

And even if the weird antagonist isn't a real monster, that is a reason not to be scared of them? Especially if you are genuinely a coward most of the time?

And on the final note, even in the original season they left some room for real super natural elements. Such as the floating bone at the end of A Night of Fright is No Delight, or the flashback in That's Snow Ghost. Which according to the teller would have happened many years before the episode's villain ever put on a costume.

Remember they were the only scaredy cats of the group so they were the only ones that got scared by pretty much everything expect for food of course.

Shaggy eats 'dog treats' so of course he is not right in the head.

Seeing as how they were always stoned, they likely forgot about the other mysteries.

Even if they’re only ordinary humans, they could still be dangerous.
