As 'progressive' as Serling was

he despised collectivism. I imagine the conformity enforced today would be absolutely terrifying to him.

Don't try to bury this one, conformists!

I've read two respected biographies of Serling, and as much as he was for the underdog (he despised racism, antisemitism, etc.), he was a royal homophobe. It wasn't born out of hatred, as much as he simply could not wrap his head around the concept of homosexuality. Both books cover it, even humorously.

I, too, find it hard to wrap my head around why a guy would want to suck another guy's dick, or stick his own dick in another guy's rectum. That being said, I don't fear or dislike homosexuals. I just can't conceive how they like what they like, much like I can't understand why anybody would eat an anchovy on purpose.

Same. To me it's absolutely revolting, which is why way back before I was a teenager I realized that no man would voluntarily make that decision for themselves - they *had* to be born that way. If being gay was a lifestyle choice, I would detest and hate gays, but they didn't make that choice. I feel sorry for them tbh.

As for anchovies on pizza, if you've ever had pizza in New York, New Haven, or parts of Italy, you've had anchovy and didn't realize it. Pizza chefs will melt a bit of anchovy in their marinara sauce for that umami briney kick to the sauce, so even if you order just mozz or plain tomato, you've had it. You don't pick up the fish on the palate, but it improves the sauce.

If you like a classic Caesar dressing (restaurant made, not bottled), there's a bit of anchovy in that as well though it's more pronounced in Caesar dressing than it is in NY/NH pizza.

Based on what you posted that wouldn't make him a homophobe. That would make him a person who could not wrap his head around the concept of homosexuality.

reply

He was a homophobe. Sounds like you are, as well. But it's not my fault you're too old to get any and rely instead on an old stack of Playboy magazines you keep under your bed.

reply

You have a very active imagination. Nothing in either of your posts is based in fact. Good luck in life.
