Are the Doorman, Caddy, and Guard all supposed to be the Wizard in disguise or are they independent characters? I like to think they all are the Wizard as he attempts to keep Dorothy and her friends from being able to make requests of him that he is unable to fulfill.

Independent characters.
I'd say the "Wizard in disguise." He knew he was a charlatan, with no real power, so he had to keep an eye on what was going on in the City.
All the Wizard--this is a dream of course-- which Dorothy somehow puts together during her concussion, based on her earlier meeting with Prof.Marvel.
