Why not make Snow White ugly?

The Queen takes a potion to make her look ugly to disguise herself in front of Snow White. If her goal is to make Snow White no longer the fairest of them all, why not instead trick Snow White into taking the potion and becoming ugly.

I would guess the potion is temporary otherwise she herself would be stuck like that.

I thought Snow White was ugly to begin with so I don't get your point

Well, we have to just accept that everybody in-universe thought that she was the most beautiful girl alive.
But I must agree with you that Snow White looks more like a porcelain roll than a real person.
