Time for a remake

Thoughts?

reply

Please...no. This was a horrible story to start with, nobody should attempt to remake this at all, not liberals, not conservatives, nobody.

WHY?

I've said this elsewhere... Yes. A remake of this is a good idea. The reconstruction period was a failed chance for the USA to live up to its words. This is a great story to remake. The events simply need to be depicted accurately and the focus opened up to show what was really happening. In a short few years, in order to bring the South back into the fold, the federal government abandoned any attempt to break the apartheid situation and stood by while Jim Crow was established. You could make a recognizable--not beat for beat--remake of this film that would be a sprawling overview of the fall of the confederacy and the rise of the new South with the KKK front and center. Obviously, the Klan aren't the heros, but they were real and they had power. No point forgetting that.
