During The 80s, critics were comparing TFF and their contemporaries negatively to chart toppers from The 70s and all decades prior

You'd be hard pressed to find a better 1980s pop album than 1989's The Seeds of Love.

I recognize that they had talent, but I never really cared for their music, now or then. Some '80s bands I preferred were Talk Talk, Bauhaus, and The Sisters of Mercy.
