That's not why they are allies. It because serbia is local version of russia. Basically same imperialistic and chauvinist country of occupants who wants to occupy further. That's why they gravitate to each other. Juts like all dictatorship crazy countries gravitate other too. russia's biggest friends are north korea, iran, belarus, venezuela, afganistan, syria etc. All ruled by crazy dictators or terrorists. All poor. All shitholes.

There are lots of similarities between USSR and Yugoslavia. Both russia and serbia still can't accept that fact they can't no longer occupy neighboring countries and still would want to return to USSR and Yugoslavia days when they were ruling other countries and were bosses of them.

That's why serbs and russians like each other. It's just that serbia has only 7 millions of people and simply can't invade their neighbors to try to make make new Yugoslavia-2. And not after NATO showed them their place. So they just sit and kiss russias feet instead. Hoping their time will come. And russia always welcomes anyone who will kiss their feet and submit.
