great actor

Hard to believe he's gone almost twenty years now.

Academy Award nominee for his role in Sounder. And deservedly so.

I know him as Captain Terrell but before that he played one of the main characters in a movie called Sounder (1972). I haven’t seen it but it is supposed to be a very good film.
