Facebook is complaining that none of the people who watched the mass shooting video flagged it

Facebook explained to journalists that part of the "challenge they face" is that we the people aren't flagging enough content fast enough.

It may sound counter-intuitive at first, but Facebook is not removing the video of Brenton Tarrant’s mosque tour because people hate it and don’t want to watch it, they’re removing it because people love it and actually want to watch it.

If people hated it and didn’t want to watch it they wouldn’t have to do anything to prevent people from watching it because people would avoid it on their own, just as you don’t click on YouTube videos that you don’t want to watch.

The problem is that people really want to watch the video. Facebook reportedly removed 1.5 million copies of it.

Aren't you supposed to call this censorship or have you finally accepted corporate autonomy and control of their private platform?

Your choice of wording is telling. "Mosque tour"? Like how the Taliban toured the twin towers with airplanes?

Also people watch things out of curiosity a lot of the time, not that they "love" it as you claim

So are you permanently done with your Thrillhouse account or what?

reply

Most people liked it because most have become desensitized, most are kids, most compare it to a FPS game, most are sick in the head. Just the society we've been raised in thanks to the constant violent games, movies, etc.

^Yep.....

Huh? Aren't companies like Facebook the ones who desensitized us?

we grew up with if it bleeds it leads that is why all this crap is on the news all the time if trump was not such a draw for them they would stop putting him on every day
