Didn't know what the 25th amendment was...

Evidently Bannon had to explain it to our president...yeah...

reply

I don't believe he understands what the Constitution is for, let alone what's in it.

reply

Neither did Obama.

reply

Agreed. I am very thankful Obama is no longer in office. The sad thing about Trump is he can't articulate the contrast between the benefits of freedom/God-given rights/independence with the controlling govt Obama (and the Left) put in place.

reply

god-given???WTF are you on about??? He can't get things accomplished because he's a childish simpleton!!!

reply

"god-given???WTF are you on about???"

Where do you think our rights come from? The government?

"He can't get things accomplished because he's a childish simpleton!!!"

Agreed.

reply

More specifically, our government...but also many nations around the world have granted freedom to their citizens. These are governmental modifications and not divine dictates.
Questions like why didn't god grant freedom to all mankind...or atleast his chosen people? Why did he wait 2000 years to grant people freedom? Why is this not mentioned in scripture...wait...are you Mormon? If so are you attesting that when the remaining disciples came to the Americas they imparted these new freedoms to the indigenous peoples who then, hundreds of years later, repeated these mandates to the newly forming US government? All these questions are fair game with your assertion of God given freedom.

reply

Of course there are governments which have granted rights. But under that rule, they can take those rights away, as well. It would be much harder for the U.S. government because, as the Declaration of Independence says, we are "...endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable Rights..."

The Bill of Rights is made up of protections to prevent the government from taking away those rights. The first amendment: "Congress shall make no law..." The second amendment: "...the right of the people... shall not be infringed". And so on. It sets LIMITS on federal government power.

These God-given rights apply to everyone, whether one believes in God, or not. Governments can either protect or infringe on these rights. I'm not a Mormon. I've simply studied American History and government. But freedoms are mentioned plenty of times in the Bible, so I don't know why you're saying it's not. I also believe God has reasons to support different leaders and governments for different reasons. Sometimes to bless, sometimes not.

Can I ask you a question? Did you attend public school in the U.S.?

reply

Nope...private school

Man gives freedoms and take them away...deity plays no role.

reply

The fact is our founding documents were based on rights coming from God. You can't change the wording or intent just because you don't believe in a Creator.

reply

Some of us atheists prefer to call them "natural rights", but you're correct that it amounts to the same thing: rights possessed by all men that precede any government.

reply

Another fact of the same caliber...she's the man was based on Shakespeare....fiction works that way. I am not questioning the wording or intent...it is the sane rationale I question.

reply

"I am not questioning the wording or intent..."

Ok. I thought you were questioning it when you said, "god-given???WTF are you on about???"

"...it is the sane rationale I question."

Glad you can see it's sane.

reply

You're funny...delusional people usually are...

reply

Obama was a CONSTITUTIONAL lawyer before being a senator!

reply

Please post links to his writings on the Constitution, or any of the cases he deliberated or was involved in, while he was a "Constitutional lawyer".

reply

I doubt there are any. He was fast tracked to the Senate and then to the Presidency.

reply

It's hard to keep up. What did he say now?

reply

Apparently the left doesn't know what the 25th amendment is because they seem to think they can use it just because they don't like what another politician is doing. Stupid crybaby liberals, just go back to your cry rooms and let the mature adults clean up your mess from the past 8 years.

reply

I thought the 25 amendment was about presidential line of succession

reply

Eloquent points...some context...it was Bannon that informed Donny that impeachment was not nearly as troubling as the implementation of the 25th amendment, leading the trumpanzee to ask the question that my post was referring to. Liberals play no part in the discussion...unless Bannon is in your opinion liberal.

I'm a progressive and not liberal...I had no dog in the fight...my ROTFLMAO room will have to do...I like a good joke...and this guy is a fucking laugh riot!!!mature adults!?!?!i think I pissed a little on that one!!!!
