I honestly cannot think of many GENUINE hate crimes against gays and blacks within the last 20 years.

Except for that kid who shot up a black church and many, many incidents of blacks knocking out White and Asian seniors, hate crimes just are not a thing.

I can, however, bring to mind innumerable accounts of gays and blacks faking hate crimes, painting racial slurs on their houses, writing racial graffiti, beating themselves up... One crazy lesbian even branded or carved the word "Dyke" onto her body in an attempt to frame straight men.

Whenever I read about a gay or black person as victim of a "hate crime" I always think "Wait and see" and sure enough, a week or two later some tiny little hidden news article proves it was false.

Despite the actions of Jussie Smollett, there are hate crimes that go on. They range from being called a racial or homophobic slur to harassment / job loss to assaults and in rare cases murder. A lot of these hate crimes go unreported.

I can't count how many times I've been called a fag and refused service in some places.

I don't feel any bit sorry for Smollett. His despicable actions not only cost the guy his career, he is still in a lot of legal hot water. He may very well have trouble getting any job after his legal troubles are over.

But wasn’t Jussie Smollett mistreated by whites and he spoke up and showed the world the hatred for blacks ?
