Would he enjoy a stint in the 'slammer'?

I think this is the real reason he did it.

All you're doing is confirming that Jussie wasn't entirely wrong about homophobia.

reply

Yeah, it makes me wonder why these people care so much about who another man is sleeping with.

reply

Accept the above poster is probably trolling in an attempt to do EXACTLY what Jussie was doing.

reply

Possibly, but it's hard to tell on the internet.

At least Jussie was the 'victim' of his 'attack'.

When Cinephiliac refers to 'stinky faggot(s)' he insults all gay people.

reply

12 posts total, and they are all Jussie Smollett or Robin Hood posts. I'm not taking anything they say too seriously.

reply

And your a terrible human being. Yes, he should face the consequences for what he did, but homophobic slurs are uncalled for.

reply

Well said Padeen.

Tbh, I don't even want to see Jussie too severely punished, but I can entirely understand why some people might reasonably want him to be.

However, whatever anyone thinks of Jussie, homophobia is unacceptable and helps no-one.

But how do prove a negative?

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Just because you can't prove an assault doesn't mean it didn't categorically happen.

> As for the women's accusations that flooded media outlets drafting behind #MeToo, many have been proven to be unfounded opportunists.

I think a lot of people realized that at the time, but there was no way to know back then which were honest and which were merely cashing in.

> That news tends to get cloaked.

My theory is that there are two factors at work there. There's the usual liberal bias, of course. But also, if that news were reported, some viewers might recall the journalists who immediately accepted every MeToo allegation as proven beyond all sane doubt and reported on that basis. Apart from any political agenda, the MSM doesn't want to make itself look bad.

And FWIW, I hope Smollett gets the full legitimate penalty appropriate for someone with his prior record (or lack of it). Anything less would tacitly endorse the idea that what he did should be regarded as noble but misguided.

reply

It's probably a liberal saying that because they need a villain, and Jussie just proved that homophobia isn't all that rampant,or why pay someone to do it.

reply

Jussie doesn't represent every single gay and/or black American.

Good for him if he is so fortunate to have never experienced any genuine homophobic or racist abuse that he needs to make an attack up, but many other gay and/or black Americans are not so lucky.

Real hate crime exists. Not every gay and/or black American has experienced it, just like not every woman has been raped. But, sadly, many have.
