Did Charles actually tell Camilla the ceremony was boring?

There are rumors he said that.

It turned out to be widely reported: https://news.sky.com/story/king-charles-caught-complaining-to-camilla-ahead-of-saturdays-coronation-12875537

You'd think he would be excited about this.

reply

Actually, you'd think he'd have been dreading it!

The coronation ceremony itself is a weird Medieval holdover where the monarch goes through a lot of nonsensical religious or ceremonial steps, like holding two scepters and changing into ten different ermine capes for some reason. If it's dull for viewers, and it was, it's far duller for the schmuck who is at the center of it, and that's why Charles reduced the original three-hour ceremony to one.

reply

Either way he should not be bored of it.

reply

He can *be* bored all he likes, but admitting to being bored is bad form.

reply

"We can never be on time," he appears to tell Camilla.

"There's always something... this is boring."

He's concerned about the time and then says it's boring? Doesn't really make sense to me. According to other lip readers he said something else, like "This is a negative" or something similar. I think we can conclude that lip reading isn't an exact science.

How many times has he and Camilla been late to events? I can understand his frustration.
