People love Martha Stewart, but hate her?

No one cares what Martha Stewart did because she hangs out with Snoop Dogg - who still threatens women as recently as 2020 btw - but there was mass outrage over what Aunt Becky did. Both are white-collar crimes and let's be real, what Stewart did was worse. And Snoop is a low life. But Aunt Becky? Hang her!

I don't really have an issue with Lori. She did something wrong. She got caught. She did time. Is she super privileged and entitled? Yeah. I just feel like there are greater crimes in the world to care about, and why not let her try to do her job? I'm not saying people should make it easy for her. Make her audition, make her work for it. Maybe her time inside opened up a whole new level of her craft we haven't seen before. True art comes from suffering, and this is maybe her first time every getting to that place.

I also don't really care about Martha Stewart. It's hard to hold a grudge against someone who has taught you so many good recipes.

I don't have a beef with Lori Loughlin; what she did isn't my problem, the intended problem was rooted out anyway, and it was definitely a mistake. but I still think Lori Loughlin is cool, and I'm still a big fan of the film "Secret Admirer".
Martha Stewart never bothered me, and I went through a phase when I found her somewhat erotic (had to be the food). Again, stocks have nothing to do with me, I don't take 'em, and like someone said earlier in this thread, stocks are a risk regardless. Besides, Martha Stewart is home & garden/housewares, not financial; sure, she might know her stuff with the finance, but it's probably better to be educated on that and have some good personal advisors.

I know this is a year late but here is my opinion on it.
What Martha Stewart did, IIRC, was lie to the SEC. People, in general, relate the SEC to the stock market, the stock market to rich people and rich people are bad so if bad things happen to them the general public does not care. It may be viewed as the rich stealing from the rich.

What Lori Laughlin and the others did was to potentially take a place in a prestigious school from another student. A student whose life may have been changed immeasurably (that may be an exaggeration) if they were to get into USC. In this case it could be viewed as the rich taking a spot that could have gone to someone who is not rich.
