Smoking hot. Stands out.

Whenever i see actors that abruptly drop off the scene i always wonder why.

Anyone know why she stopped being in movies?

reply

Mental health problems. Passed away in 2015.

She fell out of acting entirely by the mid-90s and reportedly fell into substance abuse, mental illness, and living in a homeless shelter in Antonio Olivieri Center, near Madison Square Garden. The director of her last movie, "Confessions of a Hitman" (1994), let it slip that she ran off with Christian Slater and he supposedly got her addicted to coke. Whether this is true or not, I can't say.

In any case, she shines "Private Resort" (1988) as Rob Morrow's potential girlfriend and shows-off her physical beauty in a white bikini in the last act.

I heard rumors that she died in January, 2015, but also heard it wasn't true. Does anyone know for sure?

reply

There's no solid proof of that. But people from her family say so, and also her dad who passed away recently, told so to a friend of his who posted on FB.

Sad to hear.

Do you know where which high school she attend to?

reply

You probably already know that she was born in Orange County, California. I can't find any info on what school she attended.

For someone who was a minor female sensation from the mid/late 80s-early 90s, who worked with the likes of Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, Kevin Bacon, Rob Morrow, Molly Ringwald and James Spader, it's strange that so little info can be found on her. I'm assuming she wanted it this way (to just disappear from the public eye).

As noted elsewhere on this page, there are rumors that she died in January, 2015, but her sister-in-law (supposedly) claimed this was untrue in 2016:

“I am the ex-sister-in-law to Emily Longstreth. I have a daughter with her only brother Eric Longstreth who lives in Las Vegas with their mother. Emily lives in NYC in an apartment with some roommates. She has lived in homeless shelters for over 10 yrs. Her mother’s name is Lene Wangmo (she had her named changed when she converted to Buddhism). Her born name is Helen Lenee Corn. She has two children Eric and Emily, Emily’s father is John Longstreth, who lives in Lake Forest, Ca. I just saw Emily in October when Eric flew her out for the month. She has changed a lot from her 20s. Anyone who is interested in her, I know a lot about her life and why she isn’t able to act anymore. She was diagnosed w/ bipolar and paranoid schizophrenia at age 24 or 25. It’s a tragedy. I've only met her a few times because we live in Vegas. I can’t stand my ex, Eric."

Whether this is true or not, I don't know. Whatever the case, here's a good pic of her from her final flick, "Confessions of a Hitman" (1994), to remember her by: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109469/mediaviewer/rm3450189057/

That sister-in-law post was older, it was posted afterwards in some other sites. Sadly Emily passed away. It was stated so in her father's obituary. Basically all her direct family has passed away now :(

She was certainly a beauty.

Here's a Quora discussion about her which covers possibilities:

Emily Longstreth, an accomplished artist and musician, disappeared in April of 2014.

Her whereabouts remain unknown.

Some believe she met with foul play, while others claim she simply left town to start a new life.

Her family and friends hold out hope that she will be found safe and sound.

In the meantime, they continue to pray for her return home.

She wasn't a musician. She shows up as an actress in a hard rock video clip, though.
Artist could be. I guess she painted and wrote a bit.
