The posters on this thread are somehow trying to be humorous. I've read them all and I can understand black humor. But trust me, nothing is vaguely humorous about this murdering monster. He not only killed many young women who had their whole lives ahead of them (and we will never know HOW many women he did murder), he ruined the lives of their families. He left behind many grieving mothers.

I am SO glad they zapped his worthless, evil a@@ with all that electricity. If there was real fairness, he should have been electrocuted near the point of death and brought back only to be zapped another hundred times.

May his rotten soul burn in hell for eternity.

All you humorists out there: you have been shamed by the moviechat nanny. No more Bundy jokes!

reply

So now I'm a nanny? Nannies take care of young children. They don't police grown adults who find humor in the sickest tragedies.

I can laugh at some pretty dark stuff. But I draw the line at jokes about one of the most evil and sadistic murderers of the 20th century.

Sorry liskarcat, but I don't get the "joke". And actually the phrase "Bundy jokes" is a contradiction in terms. If he had terrorized and murdered YOUR daughter and later revisited her corpse to violate it, well...that would be a big belly laugh for you, right?

Some things are not funny. If one has any respect for murder victims or their families, just out of human decency, you DON'T joke about it.

reply

Oh my goodness, how mature you are! The broader, colloquial definition of "nanny" is someone who is always upset about something and telling others how to behave. That's what you are. Jokes about Bundy are perfectly appropriate and sometimes even funny. Nobody has made fun of his victims. You need to relax and drop the self-righteousness, nannypants.

reply

liscarcat- and oh my goodness, how immature and touchy YOU are. And apparently you're omniscient too! You "know" that I am "always upset about something". Seriously, have we met? Are you hiding in my closet? lol

You obviously can't differentiate between someone "telling others how to behave" and someone who expresses an opinion about behavior. I find jokes about Bundy in poor taste when so many of his victims families are still alive.

If you think Bundy is a great subject for "jokes", by all means tell them and have a good laugh. Your sides probably hurt from laughing when you saw Schindler's List too.

You don't need to tell me to relax little "bossypants".

reply

Well, to be honest...

reply

KD637- Seriously? Okay I probably deserved that. lol I know and I fully understand that people find humor in the darkest tragedies. It's "if you don't laugh, you'll cry".

It's just that for me, Bundy hits a real sore spot. No, I'm not related to one of his victims. I became interested in reading true crime stories way back when I read Helter Skelter. I read many of Ann Rule's books including "The Stranger Beside Me" where she gives her personal account of being friends with Ted not knowing he was a monster.

I've been fascinated by the dark side. I've watched documentaries on serial killers. Some readily admit to their crimes and admit what they did.

They can be charming and personable during interviews. I realize they are still trying to manipulate people. But the two who ALWAYS got under my skin and I found them thoroughly detestable were Bundy and Diane Downs. I've seen their interviews and I want to reach through the TV and slap the smug, smarmy, self satisfied looks off their evil faces.

I'm just glad Bundy is where he is and hopefully, not enjoying the heat!

reply

I found that pretty interesting too, it did seem like he was drinking though

reply

I heard he was kind of a jerk, too.

reply

Bundy had a self loathing side where he wanted to get caught. It only showed up now and then..and very briefly.

reply

He met a shocking end, but I'm glad at least he was sitting down for it.

reply

Ted was executed by a woman, very fitting.

reply

He missed his last meal too so he was hungry more than anything.
