Riddick or Dominic?? Or even Xander??

Which of Vin Diesel's franchises do you gravitate towards more? His Riddick series or his Fast series? I prefer his Riddick series vastly more than The Fast and Furious franchise. I never watched beyond The Fast and furious part 3. But I'm very much looking forward to Riddick part 4. Then there's his Xander Cage xXx series as well. Even though he's only done two installments of that, I'd watch that any day over the FF franchise as well.

I used to be a big fan of the FF franchise. However, after Paul passed, the movies went to shit. In my opinion they should have never continued. But maybe that’s what he would have wanted? The only two I’m really into now are the original and 2 Fast. I’ll still watch them from time to time. But I have to say that Dom is #3.

XXX is a fun movie. I always enjoyed it. I didn’t care for the second one (where X was “dead”). The third film was okay. But as a character I like X more than Dom, so he is #2.

#1 is Riddick. I’m a huge fan of space related stuff so that naturally drew me in. Pitch Black is awesome! Possibility my favorite film of Vin’s. I also thoroughly enjoyed the two sequels. A fourth one? Hell yeah!

Had you asked me a few years ago, I would've said I didn't like the second or third Fast and Furious, and found the newer ones to be better. I don't know what I was thinking. I wasn't. Upon rewatching all of them, I think nothing beats the first 3. The newer ones, though they try, seem to lack heart and aren't about racing at all anymore. At least when Brian was still there they were bearable, but after Paul Walker died it seemed like that's when they stopped trying. Still, even with Brian the films were going downhill. Whatever insane stunts were in the first three films, they at least didn't take themselves that seriously. Up to the 10th one, we have the most insane "stunts" (or cgi) there to just annoy viewers and defy all forms of physics. Sure, maybe he would've wanted it, but he may not have wanted it to get this bad.

I seriously hope you're joking.

Fast and Furious 2 is by far the worst movie from the series.

What a giant pile of borefest. It's awful.

reply

I'm serious and am not joking, but why would you hope that?

I used to think the second one was the worst. I changed my mind after watching it again. At least it isn't people jumping all over cars with guns and explosions the whole time. It's actually about racing. To me, that's what the franchise is supposed to be about. Car racing. It's just dumb fun. It's okay if you don't like it. I understand your opinion. I don't know what makes it a "borefest" when it's action packed throughout.

reply

No, you surely are heavily jokng.

Fast and Furious 2 is garbage and yes, it's a giant borefest.

It's the worst of the series by far.

reply

Can you explain what makes you feel that way about it?

reply

It's an awful movie.

reply

That isn't much of an explanation as to the reason you consider it "the worst."

reply

Because the movie is so boring that it turns out to be boring trying to explain how that movie is so boring.

reply

Round of applause to you then?

So you prefer pointless explosions and chase sequences with a convoluted plot and unnecessary twists instead of car racing that tells an actual story?

reply

Since when does Fast Furious 2 has good car racing and good plot?

The movie is bloody awful!

reply

I didn't use the word "good," I was just saying I think it's better than the newer stuff.

reply

The newer stuff is million times better than Fast and Furious 2.

reply

Oh man, it's crazy to me you think that. I'll have to disagree with you, but you're entitled to your opinion.

reply

To me it's absolutely insane how someomne can think the borefest Fast and Furious 2 is comparable to the last FF movies.

reply

I ENJOY ALL THREE...BIG DUMB ACTION MOVIES ARE FUN...HOWEVER...PITCH BLACK IS AN ALL TIME FAVORITE FLICK FOR ME...THE SEQUELS HAVE BEEN FUN BUT HAVE NOT LIVED UP TO THE ORIGINAL...I AM EXCITED FOR THE NEW ONE THOUGH.

reply

riddick. his greatest achievement.

reply

Riddick.

His part in F&F requires zero acting skill and could have been anyone doing it.
