Not one of his truly best roles, but any Plummer fan should check out "Silent Partner". He plays against type as a psychotic bank-robber/murderer in a late-70s Canadian thriller that's as good as almost anything by Hitchcock.

I agree that his fans should check it out but disagree that it’s not one of his best roles — I think he is superb in this chilling film. His performance is truly scary but also rather funny - an ingenious character and a brilliant performance.
