shareIt's not always about the voice. Look at Bob Dylan in that regard.
Also, Kurt was a pretty good guitarist, not like Hendrix, Page, Clapton, SRV or Eddie Van Halen, but that's not the point. He had some memorable riffs ("Smells Like Teen Spirit," "In Bloom," "Heart Shaped Box," "All Apologies").
Nirvana was a great band, way ahead of their time.
Indeed, Millennials grew up on them and now consider the Foo Fighters to be a good band.
Here's to hoping that their demise after this year!

I feel like they are a Lemonheads evolution rather than a Nirvana one (Which is no bad thing in itself).
I prefer my grunge to be about grunge and for it to be a stage which passes.
Foo Fighters seem more springy and bouncy and it's not my cup of tea Jack.
I liked Greenday's first couple of albums and then nothing, same goes for Ash.

shareYeah, his riffs are great for this style of music. Grunge doesn't need intricate, complex guitar work. That would actually detract from the "grunginess."
shareI agree they were a great band but I believe they were of their time. Could you imagine Kurt on Facebook or Twitter, or even in this day? Never in a million years. I suspect would have hated today's culture. Kurt had passion, emotion, was a terrific entertainer, and musician, but part of me feels like he did himself a favor.
