Despite all efforts of metoo and timesup(which fell apart as a movement as quickly as it started), Hollywood does seem to have a habit of putting a lot of pretty women out there in roles just long enough to have some impact (as Kensit did in Lethal Weapon 2) and then to slowly move them "off the table."

I think this reflects the fact that Hollywood is still a system of disproportionate male power -- studio bosses since time immemorial have enjoyed having power over the careers of beautiful women and then taking their fame away. This doesn't even have to do with sexual harassment a lot of the time...they just make "business decisions" and pull the plug on the actresses.

Some actresses have beaten the odds -- Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock among them. Margot Robbie and Jennifer Lawrence are hot now...but J-Law is getting a bit colder (no matter, she will remain superrich and will get roles. She made her breakthrough with an Oscar and The Hunger Games franchise.)

Cate Blanchett(in EVERYTHING) and Meryl Streep are the "prestige superstars."

No, its the "level down" from those top actresses where you see pretty women "come on the scene and then fade away." Sharon Stone comes to mind. Debra Winger. Uma Thurman. Meg Ryan. Geena Davis(currently trying for a comeback with a book.)

And even THEY have still have names and get cast sometimes.

Its the next level where the struggles are. Patsy Kensit. And scores like her. Gretchen Mol comes to mind.

Wasn't she dating that scrawny ashtray Liam Gallagher?
