Hoosier's story.....

Just saw a piece from an entertainment site that Hackman only took the role because he needed money, was difficult to work with, and told Dennis Hopper that the movie was horrible and would end their careers.

I imagine a Google search could locate the piece - I really can't recall which one published it.

Honestly, without a citation, I would just dismiss that.

As I suggested.....Google.

A citation - great - as I suggested...

Interesting story and seems legit.

Guess some are too lazy to do a Google search themselves.

I was just trying to pass along an interesting tale of a tidbit glanced at in quick passing and now find myself wasting even more time on bullshit.

If you start a post describing the article that contains what seems to be doubtful information, it's simply good form to link the citation.

As I said, it was interesting and seems legit. Thanks for the citation.

On the movies that made me podcast, the host, who knows the director, has been telling the story of how Hackman treated him and the movie with contempt while on the set. Until Gene saw an assemblage of the dailies and remarked to the director, "How the f did you do that? I'ts good!"

There's also a famous story of Wes Anderson at a Q&A being asked what's the one piece of advice he'd give to a young filmmaker and answering "Don't hire Gene Hackman"

LOL, interesting.

Hackman is one of my favorite actors, but it's often better not to know they can be jerks at times.

Luckily, he was able to bounce back with his elder statesman role in ‘Welcome to Mooseport’ (2004).
