His stand-up routines scared me.

I watched a couple of them and never again. He seemed like a madman, on the verge of breaking down. It was scary and disturbing. He was obviously mentally ill.

Pretty common with some of the best comedians like Kaufman, Hedberg, etc.

I really enjoyed him
He had a manic energy and improv skill to beat them all
There were some periods of substance abuse that may have fed the energy...he probably was a bit too intense for young viewers

Could have been cocaine.

I've heard that it's, "a helluva drug".
