Retiring?

Edit: I'll believe it when I see it. He's an erratic and unpredictable guy. I'll believe he's retired when he's not doing interviews and it's been years since he made a movie. This is the same guy who denounced Kick-Ass 2 while doing PR for it.

I saw Sonic the Hedgehog 2 today and Jim Carrey is brilliant in it and steals every scene he's in just like with the first film.

If he's retiring it's an excellent final performance and a wonderful reminder of his manic energy performances that launched his career back in the 90s.

His career actually began in the final year of the 80s, with his debut on In Living Color.

Be aware that a decade run’s from a “1” year to a “0” year. The decade of the 1980s was from 1981 to 1990.

Ah sorry I should have been a bit clearer I meant his film career which was pretty much launched from Ace Ventura: Pet Detective back in 1994 but you're definitely correct in that In Living Color put Jim Carrey on the map.

Such a great actor, sad to see him potentially retiring but I'm glad he's happy and isn't just going to keep making films out of boredom or a paycheck like some actors have done in their older years.

I haven't seen the first one. I wasn't terribly interested in it, but have heard nothing but good things about the both of them.

They’re just fun films. Fans of the games will like them more but if you’re there for just a manic energy Jim Carrey performance then they’re worth watching just for that.
