Cellular outage hits the U.S

My phone was acting funny two days ago but I just powered it off and powered it back on, it turned out OK.
My daughter accidentally broke her iPhone and for some reason they had to get into my account and screwed me up:(

If you shut down your phone and reboot it it's usually good to go.

Apparently due to the cellular outage rebooting wouldn’t have solved the problem. Phones would have to be set to do Wi-Fi calling. My phone is always on Wi-Fi except when I’m away from home or if the Wi-Fi is down.

Do you recall when we went ape-chit over not getting a cellular signal? No Wi-Fi then. I remember when I was shutting down my mom’s home after she died. I cancelled her landline because I had a tiny mobile phone. Well, guess what? My phone couldn’t receive those pesky little bars so therefore I had no phone to use. When I returned home I called Sprint to complain and was informed “We are seeing a strong signal to that address.” My response “Well, dammit! I don’t care what you’re seeing because it’s not reaching my phone!”

A few months later I stopped by Radio Shack and was complaining to them. This was 2004 the year 3 hurricanes hit Florida. They informed me the only carrier which continued to work during those hurricanes was Verizon. My problem was BEFORE the hurricanes. When my contract was up in 2005 I went with Verizon and I’m still with them.

We use Verizon and have had no big problems with them.
A couple years ago I got rid of my landline phones, that might be a flaw in my home defense but so far all of the cellies are pretty solid.

Wait, when was this printed?

Because my relatives had trouble calling me today, and I suddenly had trouble calling them as well. I had to restart my phone and then the call went through.

I was wondering what was up with that. It seemed every time one of my relatives tried to call me, they suddenly got a message that said, "Subscriber is not active at this time," or something along those lines, and yet the phone bill had been paid recently. I tried calling from my phone and it suddenly gave me a similar message, rather than going to voicemail or ringing. Restarting the phone seemed to help.

What really made me angry was, one of my relatives was accusing me of blocking them on purpose without actually saying so. They just assumed it was all my fault because it had happened at least twice in the past few years, when I got sick and tired of them calling me every hour upon the hour, and I temporarily blocked their cell phone number to get some peace and quiet.

I really hate family members who treat those closest to them like a villain that's constantly plotting to make their life miserable, when nothing could be farther from the truth.

Relatives can be so snarky at times. I know where you’re coming from regarding receiving phone calls when you’re ill. When I’m in the hospital I don’t want phone calls or visitors. Bless my now deceased mom who was a worry wart. I was in to have surgery. Well, post-op she started calling. It seemed to be every hour, but probably not as I was in that post-op stupor. I did a mean thing. I instructed the nurse to not let any calls thru. Poor Mom. It made it worse I found out when the nurse told me Mom assumed something was wrong. She got ill from worry. Shame on me because I would give anything to receive a call from her. She was the closest person I knew who could be deemed an angel. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🥰Love you . Mom!
