The reason for putting her "first" was based on Bonnie putting herself first in the poem "The Story of Bonnie and Clyde"

I thought that's how the media referred to them, and that bad poem was published because she was already nationally famous as "Bonnie and Clyde".

I don't know why the media picked that order of names, those were the days when correct etiquette usually called for "ladies first", but it's not liked bank robbers and crime reporters gave a rat's ass about etiquette! Maybe it just scanned better, it "B&C" just sounds cooler than "C&B".

In my quick search of news articles made while they were on the run, he is almost always mentioned first.

So I'm guessing it is either because of her poem or that a female being involved in a duo like that will always be the more "fascinating" half due to obvious reasons.

Mary & Max is 8.1 and on IMDb's top 250 and Fanny and Alexander has the same 8.1 score. But the others are irrelvant.
