Shouldn't add likes in posts and comments in this forum?

I see many comments in here that I agree with and I have nothing to add but I can't like them. The addition of likes would be a huge upgrade in this forum in my opinion

Yes. It would be nice to be able to downvote some of the troll posts, since they're allowed to operate here with impunity.

It's 2023. Time to upgrade this outdated site with some more bells and whistles.

Unfortunately, the site owner (Jim Smith) has long since stepped away from the day-to-day running of the site. He hasn't even posted anything for several years now. Not even sure where to find any of his posts or his profile page.

IDK who is running the site nowadays. Moderators? Has to be more people involved than that.

I just set them to ignore.

"Likes" and "Lols" are an easy way to avoid discussion. The designer didn't include them for a good reason. Instead of a vapid "like", just post why you liked it.

For example you see a post under a movie that say ''this is a great movie'' and on the side has 200 likes, this is how you know this is a great movie indeed. This way this forum will have its own ratings by the users, don't tell me this is not a great feature

I'd like to see that. A like allows you to acknowledge someone's post without having to write something lame like "I agree" or it's just an acknowledgement that you have read it if you are involved in a conversation which has come to a natural end. I wouldn't want to see dislikes on here though I think that would open it up for trolling.

there's hasn't been any updates in years.
