Movies you would like to see prequels to?

Usually the discussion is about which films should be remade but I think some films would work with prequels. (edit : I have just noticed I seemed to have chosen war films)

Top Gun (1986) - A film about Maverick's dad in Vietnam would be cool.

First Blood (1982) I know we get Vietnam flashbacks but seeing a young John Rambo go about civilian life, why he signs up etc his tour in Vietnam and some of his life immediately after the war.

MASH (1970) some background on their civilian lives and how they come to sign up.get drafted.

Lethal Weapon (1987) Riggs in Vietnam would be cool and watching how they make him a lethal weapon.. (couldn't resist)

Escape from New York (1981) - Just saw it for the first time during the 2020 lockdowns. It was fantastic.

The sequel was meh but I would absolutely LOVE a prequel rather than the planned reboot.

"Aliens" (1986) I'm aware it's a sequel, but there is the story of the little girl Newt and her family that is only briefly touched upon in the director's cut. I think there could be a solid movie about her surviving by herself after her family was killed.

I loved your Top Gun and Lethal Weapon prequel ideas.

My choice would be Die Hard. I would like to see McClane in his work with the NYPD as well as a peek into his family life with Holly and the kids. More details on the breakdown of their marriage would make for good conflict.

Thanks. Die Hard would be cool to see McClane as a normal cop and his family life. Likewise with my Lethal Weapon idea, it would have been good to see Riggs with his first wife. Murtagh's Vietnam experience would be cool to see too.

The Third Man 1949

History of the World: Part One. So it would be Part Zero. There is a lot of comedy gold between the Big Bang and those fish starting to walk on land with their feet-like fins.
