are you tired of tom hanks yet ?

count me in

i can't really see much call for being tired of him these days, really.

i could see thinking that way back in the 90s or '00s, when you couldn't throw a brick without hitting a movie theatre playing one of his films.

i know he's still around and doing things, but it's not like he's inescapable.

reply

No, not at all
If that guy is in a movie I'll watch it

reply

Yep. He is a very gifted actor and I thought he should have won an Academy Award for Cast Away - I though he did an amazing job in that.

reply

I agree, the man is pretty awesome

reply

oh yea, he's likeable. like a bottle of coke. except the coke is refreshing.

reply

No, not at all. He is a good actor.

reply

Nope, I'm waiting for him to reappear in Bachelor Party 2.

reply

hanks is a good actor, which is to say that he is a pleasant fellow you can safely plug into american hero roles with ease.

i'm just tired of him, is all. there's billions of humans, probably 20,000 decent actors in the population - ok, at least a few thousand.

let one of them others have a crack.

reply

You’re exaggerating. He’s hardly as ubiquitous as you’re suggesting and certainly not preventing other actors from getting work.

This seems the weirdest of flexes, honestly.

reply

he seems to have the 50-60 something american hero role wrapped up.

i'm not exaggerating that i'm tired of him. its just my take. i like to see new actors, in all age ranges.

I remember when he was on Late Night, maybe early 90s, and he said himself how he can't do anything. Suddenly, he produces a bunch of garbage for CNN.. Suddenly Hanks takes a sudden interest in pushing the magic bullet conspiracy theory bullshit.. He'll go with whatever The Establishment goes with; I doubt he has made an original thought public that was from left-field.

He was likable in "Big" and "Forrest Gump" but I'm not a fan.

reply

No. I enjoy his work.
