Great line-up but Kramer vs Kramer is WAY too heavy man...Hoffman and Streep were awesome as usual but holy shit what a difficult movie, I'll never rewatch that one

Divorce fucking sucks, never had one myself but it seems way harsher than anything I could imagine
You lose your kids, your stuff, your car...Probably your mind as well

It is way heavy. But that scene where Ted finally figures out how to make french toast with Billy is such an awesome dad moment. Of course, at the end, it totally rips your heart out and throws it on the floor...so I get your feelings.

reply

Kramer vs Kramer is hard to watch. There is nothing fun about that movie.

reply

Not at all

I suppose the performances were great by the main super stars but damn...I'd rather watch a stupid 'disaster' movie, sheesh

I would like to see a remake of Treasure except at the movies end they keep the gold and spend the next year in a brothel.

A Man for All Seasons is in my all-time Top 10.

Timeless story, brilliant performances.

I tried watching it once, but I'm repelled by period pieces. I've only seen one movie over 100 years old that didn't emphasize costume, speech, etc. (Los Olvidados)

To each his own. But it really does have so much thoughtful dialogue.

One of my favorite exchanges...

Thomas More: Why not be a teacher? You'd be a fine teacher; perhaps a great one.
Richard Rich: If I was, who would know it?
Thomas More: You; your pupils; your friends; God. Not a bad public, that.

reply

Scofield was a true giant. That man brought more to the screen than most entire casts do in other films.

Hear, hear!
