When I get older they think I'm a fool
The teacher told me I should stay after school
She caught me pounding on the desk with my hands
But my licks was so hot
I made the teacher wanna dance
I believe that's none other than Todd Rundgren, who had a few hits back in the 70s ("I Saw The Light," "Hello, It's Me"...what a great song that is, et.al.). I think the title is "Bang The Drum"
PS: "Hello, It's Me" is probably my favorite song of his, but he also came out with a song in the early 90s (if I remember correctly) called "The Want Of A Nail" that I loved.
Thank you...you are too kind! Music is a big passion of mine and I love music trivia...I find it so fascinating!
I wish I had your music knowledge of 80s and 90s alternative....bands like Depeche Mode, The Smiths, etc. You have a lot of knowledge about those bands...I wish I were better at getting your lyrics here! 😃 A lot of the lyrics you post sound familiar, but I just can't place them. I really admire people who can sing and have musical ability/knowledge.
Ugh! I thought this one may not have been right...I'll have to ponder this one some more. Hopefully, someone can guess this and put me out of my misery.
"Don't Think Twice (It's All Right)" - written and performed by Bob Dylan, but my favorite version is by Mike Ness (lead singer for Social Distortion) in the late 90s.
I was going through some of the older unanswered ones this morning and this one just dawned on me...I can't believe I didn't get it first time around. I had just asked Alexa to play this song not too long ago! 😃
Great song..."Laughter In The Rain" by Neil Sedaka.
Are you sure you don't mean 27th year on this one? 😃 I'm thinking that it's supposed to be "Rocky Mountain High" by the late, great John Denver...but that was "27th year" instead of "22nd year."
If it's supposed to be "22nd year," then carry on...my apologies! 😃
